THE PILIO TRAIN (MOUTZOURIS)

Historic Pelion Train, "Moutzouris" (denoting by its name the steam and smoke that leaves behind) is not just an experience that you have to live during your stay in Pelion.

It is a journey through the mythical paths of the place. A journey through the summer houses of the 12 ancient Greek gods of Olympus and next to the caves of the Centaurs.

A unique experience for all ages, Moutzouris, climbs the mountain of Pilion with 4 wagons and a speed of about 20 km / h, starting from Ano Lechonia, makes a stop of 15 minutes in Ano Gatzea and arrives in Milies after a trip 90 minutes in total. This is a trip that gives travelers the opportunity to enjoy unparalleled natural scenery, tunnels and arched bridges.
However, if you don't have enough time to make this trip, it is at least worth squeezing into your schedule a visit to Milies Station on the time of the arrival of Moutzouris, where you can witness and even participate to the traditional turning of the engine manually by the train employees and by volunteers.
